I think I found my song. Not just a song on repeat - but MY song.
You might guess who it's by if you know me. It isn't one of those obscure bands/singers kinda thing - though maybe it is ^_^.
It has everything that makes is a me song.
And well, if that's a good enough answer for you,
or you're not patient enough to wait for the song,
(I sympathize, cuz I thought I would just post the first part),
click here to go straight to the song.
But for the rest of you, please excuse this interruption, and read on ^_^.
So, where was I? Ah yes, everything for a me song...
- Groovy
I think I could classify my jamming at the grocery store to be actual dancing. I actually have to actively stop bouncing when this song is played. It's like this song triggers my auto-dance portion of my brain :D. And I'm not talking about the nice, choreographing part either... not saying I couldn't though :P.
The beat might seem simple, but the varying speeds of the different lines give you the chance to play around with speed - and well, even if it is simple - simple lets you chose how you want to move ^_^. - Harmonic
Ok, it might seem weird, but the scale and the chords in the way they put it together have a bit of an Indian vibe to them - as if it was composed in a Carnatic raga (especially the guitar lines).
And I love the poignancy of the slight minor twinges (that I think are from the juxtaposed half steps in the harmonic line). A little bit of minor amidst the happy tone of the song makes the happy stand out, and well I always love me a little minor. It just kinda does it for me - it pulls at my heart strings? Basically I feel it in my gut [I have a preference for the minor ragas in Carnatic music too]. - Smooth Arrangement
I like that there isn't too much fuss with this song. The each musical voice has it's chance to shine. Like during the vocals, the guitar adds the harmonic chords. But only shows off between verses. Even the bass has a lovely line (prob my favorite part (: ).
It has no fancy changes in pace, aside from a bit of retard at the end of the piece, and it's not a forced, techno beat banging around your head. Occasionally, all the percussion you hear is just snapping or a guitar. The entire sound of the song works for me: like the way the song ends almost the same way it begins ^_^. - Poetic
This song is a little clever - it's not just a bunch of words that go to a beat. There is actually a developed rhyme that follows the pattern: a,a,b,c,c,b,d,d. Looks a bit familiar doesn't it? ^_^. Of course, they do get away with some rhymes that don't really work - but I'm ok with that.
And I feel like the lyrics just fit me and my mentality: the real way I take almost everything. Should I go line by line and explain how I can apply it to myself? Well only if you ask ^_^. - Vibes with my jive
There is something about the pace of the song that matches the walk I walk. Sure, I can rush from place to place if I need to. But when it counts, I like walk without hurry. I like to feel the sun, smell the flowers; I'll get there when I do. I know my walk is a bit slow for some people, but it's a lazy pace (and I think I get that from my dad - though he sometimes doesn't realize he needs to hustle...).
In a similar sort of line, the song feels like it's not dressed up, or overdone, like it has too much makeup on, not too fussy. It is as if this was how they came up with the song, and it stayed just way it was made. And I like that au naturale kinda state. It's just plain and simple; it doesn't force me to think (though of course that doesn't stop me from thinking at any point).
It's also a little old school; I just get that vibe, and despite forward thinking and all that, I'm a bit old school thinking (maybe that's why I judge people when they don't do some things as they have been for centuries :P).
Of course, I think this song is a little quirky (which I'm sure you'd agree is me ^_^). So obviously, I celebrate the quirks when I listen to this song.
And the fact that I can listen to this no matter my current mood - well, that definitely says something doesn't it?
I mean, it makes me smile that small inside smile when I hear it, and my body feels the need to move to it. And well, I needed to share this discovery with someone ^_^. So for your own judgment, the song.
I'll on my computer, but the song link did not work on my phone
